Playing Together

Landon and Ellie love to play together. We put our latest pictures on the computer yesterday and looking through them, so many of the them were of Landon and Ellie playing with each other. What a happy thing!

Reading stories before bedtime
Playing in the backyard - their favorite thing on these Spring days (except for the all-time favorite game of chase around the island in the kitchen) :)
More storytime
Landon teaching Ellie to play Chess

We've been busy trying to check things off our list of unfinished projects in getting our home ready to sell, but still enjoying these happy days. Had a fun visit from April last weekend and she and Jordan ran a 10K race in the canyon. I think I'm ready to start running again after a long break and I'm excited for more biking and rollerblading on these happy almost-summertime days. :) Landon is crazy about biking and has gone on some great long adventures with Jordan in the past few weeks, and he loves just circling around the corner in our driveway. And Ellie happily loves these outside adventures for the chance to be out and about and see the beautiful world. I sure love this family of mine.

Phewph!

Went on a family adventure this evening - Jordan ran pushing Ellie, I rollerbladed, and Landon biked. Even going my absolute fastest on my rollerblades, I was still trailing Landon. If he hadn't had to stop every little while to check out something interesting, I would have been left behind for sure!

I pushed Ellie on the way home and she just cooed and talked in her tender little voice as we raced for the lead.

Such fun Spring days! :)

Mother's Day & Video

Jordan made this animoto for Kathie today - so fun.
(The first little schpiel is kind of out of sync :)

I love Mother's Day. I love my little boy singing "Mother I Love You" with all his heart from the front of the chapel. I love watching Ellie as happy as can be covered in whip cream from her coconut cream pie. I love Jordan and a "you can't let me sleep in on Mother's Day!". I love Sacrament Meeting talks of encouragement and instruction and the feeling of knowing that what I am doing with my days is the best thing that I can be doing right now.

I love that I am a mother to my two children that I love so - even 'all the millions' (Landon to Mommy "I love you all the millions, even though you're not my son.")

Silly and Sweet

Silly -
Singing the 'I am glad for many things' primary song in the car the other day with his own words (not grumpily, by-the-way, just being silly :)

"I am sad for many things, many things, many things. I am sad for many things, that my parents take away..."

Sweet -
A few days ago on our adventure, Landon stopped his scooter in the middle of the sidewalk and said something like "Can we do something Daddy where you are loving me, and you are both loving me together?" then he grabbed Jordan's rip-stick board with a "Not right now Daddy, it's loving time." So we gave him a Landon sandwich hug in the road and then we all happily continued on our journey. :)

I can't even believe it!

(Those are Landon's words for something really amazing :)

Landon learned to ride a bike today - !!!

Where did this grown up little boy come from?

Jordan let me sleep in this morning, and took the kids out shopping for some rollerskates (which are actually going back, because they are not nearly so cool as these ones.), a t-ball stand and bat, and some training wheels (time to watch out for Saturday morning sleeping-in I guess :)

Landon was thrilled with the t-ball "I'm forgetting about rollerskates because this is so fun!"

Then Landon helped Jordan get his training wheels on and replace the inner tube in his bike (a yard sale find from last summer) and then after naptime set off. By his third attempt, he was a pro!

Just about as happy as a boy can be, cruising down the sidewalk, around our corner, through the puddles... with a "Whoo-Hoo!" as he sped around. We let him choose a destination for our adventure, so he rode his bike along with us to McDonalds and back and was still wishing for more. Such a
happy boy!

Look at him go!
