Farmer's Market

(Upper left - I was doing a practice set up in the backyard and Jordan decided it would make a pretty good office space
Lower left - I'd stitched a little' 'Tuesday Flowers' logo months ago - this was Landon's sweet replica :)

The past two Saturdays we've spent our mornings at the Farmer's Market with our own booth (!!) Last week was crazy rainy, but still pretty successful and a memorable, keeping dry adventure. This week  Landon had a fun time shooting marshmallows and demonstrating his catapults, and sold almost 30 of them! ( We sold out after  the first couple of hours and sent Jordan home to gather our supplies to make more.) Ellie's heart crayons were a hit too and the first thing gone. Plus, I got to sell some bike ankle straps, adventure sacks, bows and clippies... And we just had a fine time with a beautiful day visiting with all of the shoppers. A successful and fun day -- And so fun to get to share all of these great things that we've loved making!

Proud Moment

unrelated, but a fun picture of this sweet boy :)
Yesterday we had our teacher appreciation celebration for Landon's teacher, Mrs. Williams. We played a guessing game about some of her favorite things, then gave her the class book all the kids had helped make and the quilt shop gift card from the class, then finished up with her favorite treat of Aggie Blue Ice cream. The kids were so cute and excited for the 'surprise party' and so proud of themselves for keeping everything a secret. :)  And sweet Landon was so proud to have his mom helping out --
To Mrs. Williams about the little 'Train your Brain' class book "My mom made that! She really made it!"  and later to one of his friends  "My mom is like so crafty. She makes all sorts of things!"

A belated May Day post - Welcoming Spring/ Waking up

May Day blossoms and snow
We've been loving the Springtime -- there is something magical about Spring here in Logan after the long, grey winter.   It's a slow back-and-forth waking up. A few blossoms, a few snow showers, and so it goes.  May 1st's morning walk was full of snow dusted blossoms and daffodils and tulips. I thought that morning how  just a few hints of Spring are enough to give hope of good things to come, even if Logan is a bit slow to wake from its long winter sleep.

And I was reminded of the sweetness of my own slow waking up each morning. Some of the happiest moments of the day come as first Jordan, then Owen, then Landon and finally Ellie each join me among my many pillows as I slowly, slowly wake up.  Scriptures with Jordan (who is endlessly patient with my eyes-closed "I'm listening" promises). Then Owen's bright smile and hug and "good morning!" and 'bundle-baby' time with a quick follow-up of "I need a toy!" Landon bounds in at 6:59 with jumps and plenty of bed bouncing/blanket tunneling and plans on the way for the day. Then 7:00 brings Ellie who sleepily climbs in and finds a cozy spot to wake up a bit more with Mommy.  A few minutes of resting, then playing pretend and at last I'm ready to start the day with a morning walk. Every once in a while I wonder if I ought to be waking early for a trip to the gym/ scripture study/ kitchen clean-up/ meditation/ whatever else early risers do... but oh how i do love these sweet sleepy mornings!

Ordinary Days/A bit of catching up

A rainy day reading party (following a standing long jump game :)
This week our plan is to get back to all the routines that make life smooth (just 2 weeks of school left and then it's time for new routines and a new plan :) We've been loving our Logan springtime with the neon trees now fading into their normal bright greens, and the blossoms and lilacs, and rainy morning walks for me. We celebrated Green Canyon's opening (a few weeks after it's opening with great patience from Jordan!) with a campfire in our favorite spot.  Jordan has been chopping wood and hoping for many more campfires to come. We loved Kathie and Winslow's company as they came to visit and sell April's house.  Ellie had a trip to instacare for 3 staples after a bonk/gash on her head, and she amazed us with her bravery -- no crying at all, just squeezing Daddy's hand as hard as she could! Jordan's been helping me with scouts w/ basketball drills, bicycle repairs, a car wash/fix-it day and tomorrow a hike along the Bonneville trail. My year-long tooth ordeal is finally over with last week's trip to the dentist (oh, how Provo is changing!) And lots of summer plans are in the works... Jordan to NYC in June, a trip to Seattle for Drew & Sarah's baby blessing in July, and a trip to Mesa for Jenny & Jeremiah's wedding (congrats!!),  Portuguese boot-camps for Landon, an office-shed to build for Jordan, and getting ready for the arrival of our newest little one... these are busy happy days for us!
