We just got back from our big trip to New York and Boston -- these posts are mostly for my own benefit to remember all of our adventures. (That's why they're so long and detailed!) Also, some of these were written while we were there and some at home, so the timing all sounds a bit strange now. :)
(October 19th)
If a week-long New York vacation wasn't enough... here we are in Boston! :)
Saturday afternoon we met Kathie and Winslow here in Boston and we've been loving this beautiful city. The fall leaves are just stunning and the city itself is so beautiful.

Such a great mix of charming old homes with other great new architecture in the skyscrapers and other buildings. Saturday was a rainy day and a travel day with a fun trip to the Boston Children's Museum.
We had a delicious dinner at Au Bon Pain and enjoyed a great walk through a bit of the city (beautiful!).
(October 30)
We took a tour of this ship -- amazing to think of these Navy men living in such confined spaces out at sea for months at a time. (Landon had a good time driving Mater and Sally around the ship.) Sunday we went to church, saw the temple and then rested at the hotel. (Our plans for walking around the temple and Walden Pond were thwarted by an all-day-long rain and SNOW storm!)
Today Jordan and I took a tour of the Alcott house (Little Women) in Concord while Kathie and Winslow watched the kids. Most of the house is just as it was when Louisa May Alcott lived there and wrote Little Women. Amazing to think of this family living just as it appeared 150 years ago (In a nearly 300 year old home). We don't have that kind of history in the west!
We also stopped at Kimball Farm for some delicious ice cream (the best pistachio I've had).
Then we took Landon to the doctor (poor sick little guy, again!) and headed into town to the Copley House hotel. It's a great little room on a charming block of row houses -- lovely. :)

And now for the rest of the trip in a quick (in no particular order) recount -->
The USS Constitution
A fun ferry ride
Boston Public Garden
I think this was my favorite spot in Boston -- just a beautiful park to sit in and walk through and watch my kids happily play. Make way for Ducklings statue
Mater and Sally got to have a ride on the mother duck here. :) Landon sure had fun climbing on these. It was so fun to sit here for a while and watch all of the people coming through to take pictures with the ducklings. A beautiful park on a beautiful day. Boston Duck Tour
This was a great tour all around Boston with some fun guides showing us the sites. Jordan and I both thought that Boston was one of the most beautiful cities we've visited.Coming and going...
Just some fun pics of our in between times: stopping for a quick lunch by the Old North Church, riding the subway, walking along part of the Freedom Trail, stroller nap-time, packing all of our things via subway and shuttle to the airport, and sweet Ellie sleeping on the plane coming home (thanks to Jordan's great planning we had 3 full rows for the 6 of us :)Such fun adventures!!!
