All through the summer, I was encouraging/nudging Ellie to consider playing cello in the orchestra this year. (I'd say encouraging, she might say teasing/pestering :) After school started she was still feeling pretty worried about being able to get ready for school an hour early (it
is early!) Finally, we went to the orientation evening and she was starting to lean toward a yes. Then, she got to the sizing station, and asked to try holding both the violin and the cello. And as soon as she sat down with the cello, she looked up at me with the most excited face (like her toddler ice cream eyes!) and the decision was made. Magical!
Today was her first day of orchestra, and we both managed to make it out the door in time (it is
early!) and I'm excited to hear all the details after school!
